An Experimental Study of Hepatic morphology by Light and Electron Microscope after Administration of Herb Medicine in Rats

Abstract
Abstract-The Korean herb medicine, 8 kinds, which are widely used for medicinal purpose were studied their effect on hepatic morphology of Rats by histopathologic and electron microscopic findings.
The result is that the Ginseng radix and the Glycyrrhizae radix show proliferation of hematopoietic cell and Kupffer cell in hepatic sinus without hepatocytic degeneration, but Paeoniae radix, plantaginis semen, and zanthoxyli fructus reveal
hepatic
degeneration such as vaculoes, eosinophilic bodies, and focal necrosis as well as proliferation of hematopoietic cell. Therefore the former two herb medicine can be use for hepatic disease but others need to be careful for clinical use and should
be
done with liver function test.
